dr. Alex van Heezik

Alex has been an independent researcher since 1993. A large part of his research concerns mapping and analyzing long term policy trends and trend breaks for actors responsible for the strategies in their policy area. During these years, he mainly researched the policy area ‘transport, infrastructure, public works and water management’.

He analyzed, among others, the cost increases of infrastructural projects, the development of central government grants to regional authorities in transport, public works and water management, trends and patterns in the spending of the Ministry of Transport, Public works and Water Management and the cooperation between the federal government and the private enterprise in road construction works and hydraulic engineering works. In 2007 Alex got his PhD from Delft University of Technology on transitions in Dutch river policy. In that same year, he completed an extensive quantitative research on the functioning of the network utilities telecom, gas, electricity, water and public transportation between 1985 en 2005. 

IPSE Studies is now owner of the results and data of this research. Working for IPSE Studies, Alex will continue his research on network utilities, concentrating first on extending and broadening the existing data base.
