Innovation and Public Sector Efficiency Studies
IPSE Studies carries out research on public sector efficiency and effectiveness. The goal of IPSE Studies is to perform academic research and to contribute to the policy discussions concerning the optimal design of the public sector. The latter also includes the implementation of the research results in everyday policy. IPSE Studies performs both academic research and contract research, maintains intensive (international) contacts with policy makers and academia and organizes colloquia on a variety of related topics. The research of IPSE Studies is mainly empirical and uses advanced quantitative analyses to assess the consequences of policy and management choices on the efficiency of public services. Policy research addresses questions of market structures, budgeting systems, market regulation, interdependencies between organizations and bureaucracy. Management oriented research of IPSE studies relates to the organization of public services, and the role of different innovations in this context. IPSE Studies is part of the faculty of Technology, Policy and Management at Delft University of Technology.
