Nobel Prize helps develop TPM's body of ideas
It was announced in mid-October that Elinor Ostrom was oneof the winners of the Nobel Prize for Economics. Originally apolitical scientist, Ostrom is affiliated with Indiana Universityin Bloomington (USA). She has been working for some timewith a small group of international academics on a conceptualframework for analysing socio-ecological systems. Pieter Botsand Rolf Künneke are part of this group. Their efforts couldprove to be of major significance for TPM.

A day after the interview for Quarterly, Pieter Bots and Rolf Künneke - who work in the Policy Analysis and Economics of Infrastructures research groups respectively - will be welcoming Ostrom to Delft The original contact with the Nobel Prize winner was established by Theo Toonen, Dean of the TPM faculty, who was also one of her students. The laurate does not wish to give any inter - views, nor attend any parties, because “she is here to work”, says Künneke. Along with Bots, he explains exactly what this work entails.
